Still Catching Up...

Machine still in shop. But let's start with catching up--it's more fun. I told you I was behind on my BOM's, so here is the progress so far, still more catching up to do...

Chain piecing is the way to go

Snowballs..oh my...

I like no waste flying geese and my collector SkyTel Mug :-)

More chain piecing......

and more chain piecing

and ready to be trued up and more chain piecing. After this set there are two more to go and I am caught up on BOM blocks--except I get two more on Sat - but it is a 3 day weekend for me, so maybe I can keep them caught up, and try a new block for a wall hanging--we will see...

And then there is the machine issue. I am very disappointed in Pfaff. I, the customer should not have to make 3 calls to Pfaff, rant on Facebook and Twitter to get Pfaff to call my local dealer so they could actually finish troubleshooting my machine, instead of telling me they had it down to a small logic board ($300) or the main motherboard ($900), plus labor; on a machine less than 4 years old. Abysmal customer service in my book.

I have been talking to people and finding a lot of Pfaff dissatisfaction from owners and techs. I have also been getting the praises of Bernina sung--yet to find a dissatisfied owner or tech...maybe my next machine will be a Bernina...

After my last call, tech support did call my local shop and they did some more troubleshooting, now they say is $90 step motor...keep my fingers crossed that that does the trick and that the part actually arrives next week--several out of the area shops say that Pfaff has been slow on parts....

Glad my Pfaff 1471, that was made before the merger that seems to have marked a decline in workmanship (and a lessening of the warranty), is still a great workhorse.

Been looking at the directions for the Quiltworx Coxcomb - maybe it can be done by June--but it is a maybe...maybe it will go together easier than it reads. The Tropical Rainbow did (that I now have backing for, but still have not decided how to quilt).

Happy Sewing!
